Release the Pressure: Let Anxiety Flow Through, Not Build Up

I recently had the most amazing yoga retreat weekend @riversdalelodge, hosted by @sarahaliceyoga.
Yoga is not anything I've practiced before but I loved the challenge....and learning to really breathe.
I spent 48hrs surrounded by the most beautiful views, delicious food and amazing ladies. The yoga was great too....I had the best sleep I've had in years!
However on the sunday I woke up with anxiety spiralling.... notice I didn't say MY anxiety. I no longer allow it to be part of me. It's an emotion. We dont say MY happy is making me smile today. We just silently acknowledge we are happy and carry on.
What I learnt during my qualifying as a mental health and exercise coach and a life and timeline coach, together with lived experience, is that emotions are just ENERGY in MOTION.
Let them travel, listen to what they are trying to tell you, what does your body want? Sit for 5 mins, close your eyes and just listen.
Then write it down.
So on that Sunday morning, before the others woke and our first yoga practice began, I did just that.... and this beautiful cat joined me... even better!
I easily recognised the anxiety (hard to miss!), acknowledged it and worked through it until it passed. I then had the best day! I didn't carry it around with me, wishing it would pass.
Holding it in builds pressure. Physically and mentally..... let it flow, work with it, move your body.... it WILL pass.
This is what I teach.... I practice what I teach because it works!
Journalling might not work for you, but something will.
EnergyinMOTION
Let it travel.
Namaste 🙏 🧘♀️
